John has wide experience with local authorities, housing associations, the HC and AC, including seven years as CE of a stock transfer association; leading the HC’s regulatory and inspection activities in London and the East of England; creating and leading a major tenant involvement consultancy within a housing association (he is particularly proud of his role in project-managing the transfer of homes to the tenant-controlled WECH from Westminster CC); and housing management and homelessness roles with London councils. John is an Affiliate Housing Inspector with the AC. He specialises in preparing organisations for inspection, tenant and community involvement, performance management and improvement planning. He has written HQN publications including PI handbooks and a series on excellent three-star organisations. He was a board member and chair of a finance committee for a major supported housing association and chair and committee member of the CIH eastern region.
