Since being called to the Bar in July 2000, Melanie went into employed practice with South Kesteven District Council as the Housing Services Co-ordinator. Since 2003, she has worked as a non-practising barrister and freelance consultant specialising in social housing law and in particular homelessness, allocations and lettings and anti-social behaviour. As an HQN associate, Melanie has undertaken a wide range of work including homelessness reviews, homelessness strategy development and was a member of the research project that evaluated all homelessness strategies in England on behalf of the ODPM. She has also undertaken service reviews in respect of homelessness services and the mock inspection of several associations and authorities in respect of anti-social behaviour, allocations, lettings and homelessness. |
