First impressions last - and count!
This is a participative, one-day course for everyone who communicates, welcomes, interacts and engages with others. It will provide ideas and techniques to use to make your first impression a lasting one!
We’ve all heard the cliché ‘you never get a second chance to create a first impression’ – but have we actually thought about the first impression we create and the power we have to influence others? Many of us worry about how we come across. This course explores the importance of the first impression and demonstrates what can be done to make it positive and lasting, whether dealing with customers, colleagues, staff, business partners or any other person.

- How to make a positive impact – verbally, vocally and visually
- How to build the initial rapport – the art of starting conversations
- Techniques for being positive – even in difficult circumstances

- Is the environment working for, or against, us?
- The human element in delivering a positive first impression
- Opening messages and signals
- Acting as the host
- Developing relationships
- Impressions when delivering the 'hard no' v the 'service no'.

Everyone who converses, welcomes others, builds relationships and wishes to make an impact, whether in one-to-one situations or in a group; in particular, managers and frontline staff.
Our trainer:
Stuart Graham is a training and development professional with a background in the service sectors. Stuart has particular experience of working with all levels of staff helping them to develop and improve their personal communication skills.
